To help you constantly push forward in your career as a real estate agent, we have a few tips here to motivate yourself in the industry and it might make a difference in your day.
- What is your “why”?
This is where we can deploy the push-pull theory of motivation. Based on the theory we as humans are pulled towards doing something due to internal motivation of pushed away due to external factors. The pull is where we tap the desire to achieve something and taking action to bring yourself to a desired end.
So whenever you do feel discouraged do remind yourself why you got into the real estate industry and what your long term goals are. With a clear purpose and direction it keeps you driven to keep going and make it easier.
- Expect rejection
Rather than seeing rejection as something unpleasant and being afraid of it instead build a realistic expectation that some potential leads are going to say “no” with some parts of your service. Do project based on what a normal level of rejection would be like and you can set yourself of what to expect from there.
- Set specific short and long term goals
It is crucial to keep in mind what your goals are – Where would you like to be in 5 or 10 years? What is your current target that you would like to achieve? For the short term goals think of what immediate improvements you would like to see in your current performance and use that to enhance motivation. On the long term end you could put up images of what you have envisioned as a motivational tool to face on a daily. Set believable goals so you don’t drown yourself towards achieving much of nothing at all.
